to be held on October 31, 2011 at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center.

Summit starts promptly at 9:00 am & ends at 2 pm

This is an opportunity to be part of strategic thinking on campus directions related to online education.

Morning sessions feature: 
Chancellor Phyllis M. Wise and an opportunity for discussion;

Joanne Dehoney, Chief of Staff, EDUCAUSE, speaking on national trends in the area of technology-enhanced instruction & online learning; view her presentation

Sylvia Manning, President, Higher Learning Commission, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, speaking on online education from the authorized accreditor’s perspective. 

Lunch focuses on “round table” discussions on various topics of interest to participants, from those who have never taught online to those new to teaching online, and those who are experienced.  Topics include:

  • research on online education; “best practices” in teaching online;
  • impediments to developing online and blended courses;
  • new uses of technology/digital media; campus services;
  • and other topics that emerge based on information provided by participants through the registration process.

These topics will form the basis of roundtable discussions that will follow the formal presentations, one during the lunch hour and one during the hour following. Participants can move from table to table.
