Gutgsell Endowed Professor: Jonathan Fineberg

Jonathan Fineberg is Gutgsell Professor of Art History, University Scholar and Director of “Illinois at The Phillips” in Washington.  He received his B.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard, M.A. from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, and psychoanalytic training at the Boston and Western New England Institutes.  Professor Fineberg has also taught at Yale, Harvard, and Columbia and is a trustee of The Phillips Collection in Washington.  He is especially known for his work on emerging artists and on the psychology of creativity.
